AT&T Homezone: AT&T to launch a satellite TV set-top box compatible with Internet
US based telecom giants AT&T has announced that they are launching a satellite TV set-top box, which would also connect to the internet enabling the consumers to download movies and other digital content.
This new box would be called AT&T Homezone and would be initially promoted in Ohio and San Antonio to new customers of the co branded AT&T-Dish Network satellite TV service.
This service would be charged at $9.99 a month in addition to Internet and satellite service fees.
The company also plans to expand the scope of this service to other parts of the country and they aim to position AT&T Homezone as an alternative for those who can’t yet receive its premier service, U-Verse.
The video broadcasted by this box is currently standard definition. AT&T plans to launch a high-definition version of Homezone in the future.
