Air Deccan takes delivery of New Airbus A320

Air Deccan, has recently taken delivery of a brand new 180 seater Airbus A 320, which will be based in Kolkata.

This new aircraft will be deployed on two new routes being launched by Air Deccan on 10 March 2006, i.e. Kolkata – Nagpur – Kolkata and Kolkata – Port Blair – Kolkata and for an additional flight launched from Delhi to Kolkata also starting 10 March 2006.

Currently Nagpur is connected to Kolkata only by Indian Airlines twice a week and Air Deccan will be the only airline connecting both cities by regular daily flights.

Air Deccan at present has 32 daily flights flying in and out of Kolkata and further wants to increase its presence in Kolkata and Eastern India.

The induction of the new airbus will take the number of flights in and out of Kolkata to 38 flights per day from 10 March 2006 onwards.
