Flyington Freighters signs on a $1 billion deal with Boeing
Flyington Freighters is a cargo airline company promoted by Hyderabad-based Deccan group, which also manages the budget airline company Air Deccan.
They are now all set to enter the international freighter services market by the end of the current year. And they have signed on a $1 billion deal with Boeing to acquire four B-777 freighters.
This was just one of the latest deals signed by an Indian company at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow in London.
These cargo planes would be delivered to the company in 2009 and would have a capacity of payload of 103 tonne.
Flyington Freighters Managing Director Deepak Parasuraman spoke on their future plans: “The Company has placed firm orders for purchasing four Boeing freighters for our international cargo operations.”
The only Indian company currently operating in this space is Blue Dart Aviation and Courier firm First Flight is all set to enter the market starting from next month. Deccan would have a great opportunity to make big in this segment with little competition.
