Federal Communications Commission has 168 bidders for wireless licenses
The Federal Communications Commission has said that they now have a list of 168 bidders, which are now qualified to participate in an upcoming auction of wireless licenses.
This deal is expected to raise billions of dollars for the government and get America the next generation of mobile services.
They are due to announce as many as 1,122 licenses and these cover slices of the airwaves that are currently used by the federal government.
Some of the top names in this list are T-Mobile USA, Cingular Wireless and Verizon Wireless.
The government is hoping that this auction would fetch them $15 billion in revenues. Market analysts are claiming that the deals are worth much more than that.
