RusPromAuto entering Indian market through Uralaz
Russian automobile company RusPromAuto has announced their decision to enter the Indian market through their group firm Uralaz. The company would be establishing their assembly-cum-manufacturing facility here.
Uralaz would be collaborating with Motijug group and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) and invest around Rs 550 crores for producing heavy-duty trucks and other vehicles. These products would be targeted at the defense, mining, and construction sectors.
The three partners have formed a new joint entity called Ural India Limited. Head (Trucks) of RusPromAuto Mikhail Pagle claimed that their company is the Russia’s largest automobile company and has presence in 60 countries.
This Indian facility would become their fifth overseas manufacturing facility of RusPromAuto in India with the others being in China, Vietnam, Mexico and Egypt. The initial plan is to manufacture 7000 units per annum with future plans to manufacture 70,000 units per annum.
