American Express posts 13 percent improvement in profits
American Express has come out with their latest quarterly revenue reports and their second-quarter operating profit is up around 13%.
The company benefited by adding more customers and improved spending from existing customers.
The quarterly income of the company rose to $972 million, or 78 cents per share, from $860 million, or 69 cents in the same period last year.
The revenues itself were up 14 percent to $6.88 billion.
American Express added in a statement that they managed to add 1.9 million cardholders last quarter and they now have more than 74.4 million customers.
